2013 NSW Primary Schools Championships

COACH’S PERSPECTIVE

Padstow Park Public School entered the 2013 NSW Primary Schools Championships for its fifth year. There were 6 primary schools that entered the competition, 51 teams with a total of 102 competitors.

Our junior team (Samuel Luo and Vuong Pham) was victorious in the round robin defeated two experienced school teams. They advanced to the knockout round, semi-final and then to the final. They defeated Epping Public School in the final and took a Gold Medal for PPPS. They are the junior champions in 2013 NSW Primary Schools Championship.

Our senior team (Jayden Leung and Perry Alexaks) played to the best of their ability, defeated three experienced school teams. Perry and Jayden lifted their game and performed at their peak level in the knockout round. They advanced to the knockout round, quarter-final, semi-final and then to the final, but they were defeated by an experienced team Carlingford West Public School. They took a Silver Medal for PPPS.

Our other 2 teams played extremely well, senior team (Raymond Du and Celina Un) and junior team (Noah Vando and Michael Naing) drew some tough players. Unfortunately, both of our teams lost in the round robin rounds. They showed great sportsmanship congratulating the other players when defeated.

The star of the day is Michael Naing. He won the Junior Repecharge challenge. The standard was very high with many players take up private coaching lessons. We should applaud Michael for his great effort and performance.

Padstow Park Public School entered the 2013 NSW Primary Schools Championships for its fifth year. There were 7 primary schools that entered the competition, 51 teams with a total of 102 competitors.

We would like to thanks Mr. & Mrs. Naing, Mr. & Mrs. Pham and Mrs. Alexaks who helped out with transport and supported our players during and after their games.
